This error message is presented when access to SmartMAP/SmartView is attempted, but no valid APX certificate is provided by the browser. This typically occurs for one of the following reasons:
- No APX certificate is installed on the device
- APX certificate is installed on another browser application
- An APX certificate was installed but has expired
- An APX certificate is installed, but the browser cache needs to be cleared
If no APX certificate is installed, or if the installed certificate has expired, contact APX or your system administrator to get an APX certificate, or to get assistance installing an APX certificate.
If a valid certificate is installed, your browser cache/cookies may need to be cleared. The steps to do this for various browsers (operating system in parentheses) are below.
- Safari (iOS)
- Navigate to Settings > Safari
- In Safari settings, select Clear History and Website Data
- Select Clear
- Safari (MacOS)
- Select on the Safari drop-down menu
- Select Preferences
- Select the Advanced tab
- Select the Show Develop menu in menu bar checkbox
- Close the Preferences window
- Select the Develop drop-down menu
- Select Empty Cache
- Google Chrome (Windows)
- Open Google Chrome
- In the address bar, enter and navigate to: chrome://settings/
- In the Privacy and security subsection, select Clear browsing data
- In the Clear browsing data window, select Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files
(You may also need to adjust the time range.) - Select Clear data
- Mozilla Firefox (Windows)
- Open Mozilla Firefox
- In the address bar, enter and navigate to: about:preferences#privacy
- In the Cookies and Site Data subsection, select Clear Data
- In the Clear Data window, select Cookies and Site Data and Cached Web Content
- Select Clear
- Microsoft Edge (Windows)
- Open Microsoft Edge
- In the address bar, enter and navigate to: edge://settings/privacy
- In the Clear browsing data subsection, select Choose what to clear
- In the Clear browsing data window, select Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files
(You may also need to adjust the time range.) - Select Clear now
- Google Chrome (Android)

Open Google Chrome

Select the "Triple Dot" button in the top right hand corner

Select History
- Select Clear browsing data

Select cookies and data
-
Select Clear data

Once the browser cache/cookies have been cleared, close all instances of the browser. Then, re-open the browser and try navigating to SmartMAP/SmartView.
