New pins, both inspection request pins and building information plan pins, can be created by the user. These tasks can be completed from both the mobile application, and from the CityScape Admin Interface. For dropping new pins using CityScape Admin, see Can I modify collected information (e.g. preplans, inspections) from the Admin Interface?
Dropping a New Pin in SmartCapture (Preplans)
In SmartCapture, a user-defined location pin can be dropped by either searching for an address in the Search Bar, or long-pressing on a map location. Either action will drop a purple pin on the map. Tapping this pin and then the label that appears will allow the user to enter a building name, modify the address if required, and then create a new building information plan (preplan) at the selected location.
For more information, see the SmartCapture user documentation (CA US).
Dropping a New Pin in SmartInspect (Inspections)
In SmartInspect, a new inspection request pin can also be dropped by either searching for an address in the Search Bar, or long-pressing on a map location.
If using the Search Bar, a purple pin will drop on the map. Tapping this pin and then the label that appears will open the New Inspection Request view. From here, users can choose to create a new inspection request by selecting one of the listed nearby occupancies, by searching for a previously inspected or preplanned occupancy, or by creating a brand new occupancy. Whichever option is selected, a user can then complete the inspection request creation process by adding a building name (optional), an inspection type and inspection date, and then tapping Submit.
If using the long-press option, the New Inspection Request view will open immediately.
For more information, see the SmartInspect user documentation (CA US).
