Any image added to a building information plan or inspection can be marked up using the different annotation modes of SmartCapture/SmartInspect. There are three available annotation modes: icon annotations, drawing annotations, and text annotations. Selecting one of the modes will cause the selected button to change from orange to blue. Selecting it again will exit the annotation mode, and the button will revert back to its original state. When within each annotation mode, a set of action buttons will appear in the bottom left of the annotation canvas.
Before leaving the annotation mode, any annotations should be saved by selecting Save.
Icon Annotations
The Icon Annotations mode can be accessed by selecting the button. Icon annotations can be placed upon an image, and can then be linked to additional parts of the building information plan. A list of available icons can be accessed by selecting the button, and any linked fields can be accessed by selecting the button. When configuring these icon links, ensure that the desired icon is selected (has a cyan frame around it).
When the plan is accessed using SmartView, these icons will act as hyperlinks to the linked information.
Drawing Annotations
The Drawing Annotations mode can be accessed by selecting the button. Drawing annotations can then be added to an image by tapping and dragging on the image. Drawing annotation hue can be modified using the button, and line thickness can be adjusted through the button.
Selecting the button will open the drawing annotation deletion view. Drawing annotations are deleted by drawing a small line through the annotations to be deleted.
Tip: Deletion line length affects how long it takes for the deletion to occur. Try to keep deletion lines as short as possible.
Text Annotations
The Text Annotations mode can be accessed by selecting the button. Text annotations can then be added by selecting the button: the text annotation will be placed in the middle of the image. The text hue can be modified using the button, the text size can be adjusted using the button, and the white background of the text box can be toggled on/off using the button. Text Annotations can also be re-positioned and re-sized.
Selecting the button will delete the selected text annotation (the one with the cyan frame around it).
