In order to access the APX applications SmartMAP and SmartView, a security certificate needs to be installed on the device that will be using the application(s), and in the internet browser application being used. This security certificate is a Personal Information Exchange File (.pfx). Without a certificate installed correctly, users will not be able to access SmartMAP/SmartView, and will be presented with the following error message:
Unauthorized. No certificate provided by the browser. If you are running Safari on iOS, you may need to restart your device.
Follow the relevant steps below to confirm that an APX certificate has been installed in the selected browser (operating system in parentheses).
- Safari (iOS)
- Navigate to Settings > General > Profile
- Confirm that the APX certificate is listed as a Configuration Profile
If the profile is listed and does not say expired, a certificate is installed. If not, contact APX or your system administrator.
- Safari (MacOS)
- Open the Keychain Access app
- In the top left panel, select login from the Keychains list
- In the main panel, confirm that the certificate is listed. The expiry date will also be shown
If the certificate is not listed or has expired, contact APX or your system administrator.
- Google Chrome (Windows)
- Open Google Chrome
- In the address bar, enter and navigate to: chrome://settings/privacy
- In the Privacy and Security section, select Security
- In Security, select Manage Certificates
- In the Certificates window, confirm that the certificate is listed. The expiry date will also be shown
If the certificate is not listed or has expired, contact APX or your system administrator.
- Mozilla Firefox (Windows)
- Open Mozilla Firefox
- In the address bar, enter and navigate to: about:preferences#privacy
- In the Privacy & Security section, select View Certificates under Certificates
- In the Certificate Manager, confirm that the certificate is listed. The expiry date will also be shown
If the certificate is not listed or has expired, contact APX or your system administrator.
- Microsoft Edge (Windows)
- Open Microsoft Edge
- In the address bar, enter and navigate to: edge://settings/privacy
- In the Security subsection, select Manage Certificates
- In the Certificates window, confirm that the certificate is listed. The expiry date will also be shown
If the certificate is not listed or has expired, contact APX or your system administrator.
- Google Chrome (Android)
- Navigate to Settings > Security > Encryption & Credentials > User credentials
- Confirm that the certificate is listed
If the certificate is not listed or has expired, contact APX or your system administrator.
