A new SmartCapture/SmartInspect update—Version 3.12.0(15)—will be released on Monday, November 9, 2020. This new update brings with it a major enhancement to the multi-form capability. This feature enhancement brings two different levels of multi-form capability.
The Form Type multi-form feature allows users to select from different form types when selecting an occupancy to complete an inspection. This feature allows for different forms to be presented, depending on the type of inspection being completed. Users can simply choose a form type, and the relevant inspection form will open. A different form can be set up for a Routine inspection than for an Alarm inspection, or for Plan Reviews, Complaints, etc.
Form Types
The Subform Type feature can also be configured to allow for different violation items to be referenced within a given Form Type. For example, a Routine inspection could have different Subform types configured based on the occupancy classification. This could allow for different violation items to appear for a Commercial Occupancy than for an Educational Occupancy, all while still completing a Routine inspection.
Subform Types
The Form Type multi-form feature is currently only available to SmartInspect users. An update in the near future will bring this capability to SmartCapture-only users as well, allowing for multiple preplan form types (e.g. a commercial building preplan form, a confined space preplan form, a construction site preplan form). This feature will also be enhanced to have it affect what form appears in SmartMAP/SmartView.
Note: in order to take advantage of this new capability, your SmartCapture application will need to be updated to Version 3.12.0(15), available in the App Store on November 9, 2020.
