APX has recently launched a number of exciting new features and enhancements for all of its applications. These enhancements will be available to all subscribed users by default, with some available upon configuration request.
SmartCapture and SmartInspect Enhancements
Starting with SmartCapture Version 3.13. comes a number of exciting improvements/new features to SmartCapture and SmartInspect. These enhancements will be rolled out in the coming week.
Inspect-Only Occupancies
A new capability that will allow users to mark occupancies as inspect-only from within the SmartCapture application. Inspect-only properties are then filtered out of the response side on both SmartMAP and SmartView. A filter capability will also allow SmartCapture/SmartInspect users to filter out inspect-only properties on the preplan side of the application.
Signatures
A highly requested feature, signature capture, has now been added to SmartCapture and SmartInspect. A signature field can be added to your inspections form(s), allowing for easy collection of a building contact signature upon inspection completion. This signature is then included in the auto generated inspection report.
To request the addition of a signature field to your application, please submit a ticket through the APX Support Portal.
SmartMAP and SmartView Enhancements
Furthermore, a number of exciting SmartMAP and SmartView feature enhancements are now available and live for all users.
SmartMAP Light Mode
Another highly requested feature, APX has added light-mode support to SmartMAP. A toggle in the Settings menu of SmartMAP makes it easy to switch between the two modes, making your preplans and GIS data easily readable and accessible, day or night.
Last Inspection Report
For users of SmartInspect, the latest inspection report will appear in the SmartView preplan for each occupancy. At the touch of a button (or tap of a finger), a responding crew can view the latest inspection completed on each occupancy.
Enhanced Hydrant and Preplan Selection
Selecting and viewing the information for hydrants and preplans is now even easier in SmartMAP. From the application, simply tap/click on any hydrant or preplan to access the desired information. If selecting a building outline, SmartMAP will still auto-highlight any relevant hydrants and preplans.
CityScape Admin Enhancements
Lastly, a number of enhancements have also been added to the CityScape Admin portal, making managing your department’s inspections activity even easier.
Enhanced Inspection Requests Search
The Inspection Requests list has been enhanced to allow for multiple search terms. Entering two or more items in the Search (separated by a semicolon “;”) will filter the Inspection Requests list by both terms. This enhanced search makes it even easier to filter the list of currently scheduled inspections to a user’s exact specifications: a particular user’s inspections, inspections over a specified range, inspections on a particular street, etc.
Inspection Requests Export
SmartInspect users can now export the inspections request list from CityScape Admin. Exports can be made to TXT or CSV format, and can be adjusted using the inspection search filters mentioned above.
Inspect Only
Similar to the new capability in the SmartCapture mobile application, CityScape Admin users can mark occupancies as being Inspect-only. Users can do this from the SmartCapture tab of CityScape Admin through the new Update button, or when creating a new Inspection Request through the Inspection Requests tab.
Building Name and Address Editing
Building name and address information can now be edited from CityScape Admin. This capability can be accessed from the SmartCapture tab, through the new Update button. Updating the Building name and/or address from this view will update the preplan’s information in both the mobile application (SmartCapture and SmartInspect) and the response applications (SmartMAP and SmartView).
To submit a configuration request, or if you have any questions about these exciting developments, please submit a ticket through the APX Support Portal.
